I went to Buena Vista, Colorado last weekend. It was about a 2.5 hour drive, and I was only there for 23 hours, but it was soooo worth it!  Some time with friends, good food, fall colors, and lots of fun.

Now I've been to Buena Vista many times, and thought that I knew this town's places, but cruising west of town to Cottonwood Hot Springs just before dusk, the Comanche Drive In was starting to light up. Grease was showing, and I'd never ever been to a drive-in movie.  Change of plans!

Cottonwood Hot Springs was open until midnight, and so there was time for both.

More than that, the hot springs were a first chance to field test the new Meghan bathrobe.  Our pillows all have royal names reflective of the Queen Anne brand, and our bathrobe does too.  It's royal, but maybe a touch more casual.  Kind of like Buena Vista itself, a town with a growing tourism district but without the glitz of the ski resorts.

Buena Vista was hot during the day, still upper 70s, but at 11 pm and with temps dropping to the 50s, it was cold getting out of the pools, and later, at closing, was definitely cold rushing to the cubbie area to retrieve our towels and Meghan bathrobe.  And let me tell you, it felt great.  Just a perfect day.

Arkansas River in Buena Vista, Colorado

There's a little bit of lithium in the natural spring water there, plus other minerals, and it absolutely helped my mood.  I was happy, and I was really happy to towel off and robe up too.  I didn't bother to completely change clothes, the Meghan robe looks better than most of my clothes anyway!  It felt like a blanket and looked spa-like.  My partner and I drove back to our Airbnb both wearing our robes and nothing else.

It'll be a while before I get back to the hot springs, but my Meghan bathrobe's staying on. I'll have it for early mornings with coffee on the couch, late nights with a glass of wine on the patio, and maybe even during the day for work from home Zoom calls.
